Sixth Iran-Europe Banking Business Forum took place

The Sixth Iran-Europe Banking Business Forum took place on the morning of Saturday 28 April in presence of senior banking and economic officials at Espinas Palace Hotel Tehran.

Valiollah Seif the governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abdollah Hemmati directorate of the Central Insurance of Iran, Gholamreza Ansari deputy foreign minister as well as Ali Majedi Iranian ambassador to Germany were the key speakers. This forum focused on Iran’s commercial relations and banking, two years following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPA).

Other topics of concern included: “European Union, a Partner for Iran, Vision of Commercial Cooperation & Iranian Banking”, “European Union & Modern Compliance Management”,

“Components of the Framework of Comprehensive Risk Management, “Nonperforming Loans (NPL)”, “IFRS Standards”, Renewable Energy Sources” as well as “Investment Opportunities in Iran.

Ali Divandari, the chairman of this forum and the head of the Monetary & Banking Research Institute, pointed out that three years have passed since the launching of Iran-Europe Banking Business Forum. The scale and impact of the Iranian economy required that such a forum should be held and that this forum shall create a platform for talks with Europe which is one of the large trading partners of Iran, he added.

Divandari also stated that the five previous Iran-Europe Banking Business Forums held had a positive impact and added: “A large number of European companies, financial institutions and banks have been linked with Iran’s banking network and that this conference has also been effective in technical aspects of money transfers”.
The representatives of Karafarin Bank took part in this forum.
