<p dir="LTR"><span>IRNA- A senior energy official announced that Afghanistan has voiced willingness to import gas from Iran.</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span>Official: Afghanistan keen to import Iran’s gas</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span>'The Kabul government has requested Iran to export its gas to Afghanistan,” Deputy Oil Minister Hamid-Reza Araqi told reporters on the sidelines of Iran Oil Show 2017 on Monday.</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span>Araqi, meantime, pointed to Iran’s gas exports to Iraq, and said, “The financial problems are currently being resolved.”</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span>He went on to say that a meeting was held to discuss the issue and it was agreed that Iran’s gas export to Iraq will start after the opening of the letter of credit.</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span> “Iran has now the capacity of exporting 50 million cubic meters of gas per day to the Iraqi cities, including Baghdad and Basra,” the deputy oil minister noted.</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span>Asked about gas talks with Oman, Araqi said that Tehran and Muscat have made progress in their negotiations.</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span>As the official noted, supply of energy has been ensured in the recent years due to the endeavors made by the Iranian government that took office in August, 2013.</span></p> <p dir="LTR"><span>The 22nd Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, attended by 4,500 national and international companies, started work in the Iranian capital on May 6 for four days.</span></p>
